The Tax Reporting Institute is a membership based organization that serves the IRP community through training, peer groups, and professional certification. TRI provides resources for financial institutions, government agencies and trade associations by identifying, training and assisting professionals who specialize in the area of the IRS Information Returns Program requirements.
The mission of the TRI is to assist IRP specialists in developing their professional skills and in gaining recognition for their contribution to their organizations. TRI is dedicated to promoting individual job performance, minimizing compliance burdens and IRS penalties for their employers, and providing advocacy and recognition of this area of tax law. TRI also offers the certified tax reporting professional (CTRP) designation. Candidates earn the CTRP credential by successfully completing a comprehensive exam designed by industry experts; those with 10 years experience in the field also may seek certification by submitting an application and references.
